USDA – Compared to two weeks ago, feed grade corn demand good, trading 48 cents lower as feed mills continue to fill positions getting to new crop. Forward contracting active. Feed grade soybean demand and activity very light. No forward contract activity. Soybean meal trade too limited to trend, but steady undertones noted.
Food wheat demand and activity light with prices reflecting SRW, HRS and SWW. Feed wheat demand and activity light. Trade inactive on food and feed grade barley, oats, rye, sorghum, triticale, and millet. Limited activity on organic dry edible beans. Reports of high moisture corn delaying harvest.
The NASS National Crop Progress Report for week ending Oct. 8, 2017, shows corn harvested 22 per cent; soybeans harvested 36 per cent; sorghum harvested 35 per cent; winter wheat planted 48 per cent, emerged 25 per cent.
