Whole Peeled, Unpeeled and Rolled Oats

USDA Livestock, Poultry & Grain Market News – Compared to the prior trading period, organic grains traded moderate to active on good demand.

The bulk of organic grain activity was on old crop contracts. Trade inactive on food grade corn and soybeans, roasted soybeans, oats, barley, soft red winter and hard red spring wheat.

Feed grade corn trade active with firm undertones. Feed grade soybeans traded steady to firm on limited trades.

Soybean meal trade activity too limited to trend, but slightly lower undertones noted. Soybean oil traded firm on moderate activity.

Feed grade HRW wheat traded firm on moderate activity. Forward contract activity on new crop organic grains limited.

The NASS National Crop Progress Report for the week ending May, 22, 2016 reports corn planted 86 per cent, corn emerged 60 per cent, soybeans planted 56 per cent, soybeans emerged 22 per cent, sorghum planted 37 per cent, oats planted 98 per cent, oats emerged 90 per cent, winter wheat headed 75 per cent, spring wheat planted 95 per cent, spring wheat emerged 78 per cent, barley planted 94 per cent, and barley emerged 80 per cent.
